LAKE GEORGE OPEN WATER SWIM - JUNE 30 & JULY 1, 2007

Volunteer Information

To insure that the 2007 Lake George Open Water swim is a high quality event, many volunteers will be needed and appreciated. Individuals may volunteer for work at specific areas (i.e. Hague, Bolton, or Lake George Village) and for specific days or time periods.

Volunteers will be needed in the following types of activities

PRE RACE & POST RACE

Host families for professional swimmers and their coaches (Wed-Sun)
Individuals to serve on local town committees
Set and recover course markers and buoys (Friday and Sunday)

RACE DAY

Land Based

Judges and Timers (Sat and Sun)
Information
Registration
Signs
Awards ceremonies
Setup of Swim Staging Areas (pre-race)
Area pick-up
General Duties

Water Based

Escort boats and drivers for marathon swimmers (Sat)
Safety boats to help identify race course for professional and amateur swimmers (Sat & Sun)
First-aid boats (Sat and Sun)
